The current sad news hovering around the country in the last days is the sad news of a video that saw a military personnel named Sheriff Imoro murdered in cold blood in the street of Ashaiman.
Ashaiman is a suburb in Accra mostly known for that street tenacity and ferociousness over the years, and Ashaiman has recorded a high number of crime cases. What makes the area very popular is the fact that most popular musicians like Sarkodie, Stonebwoy always include the area to their craft and always give the area its accolade.
Upon hearing the news of the late soldier Sheriff Imoro being murdered by the yet unidentified killer, this triggered the army force to send military troops to the area to help find the culprit, but it seems the military troops were anguished after hearing and seeing their own gallant soldier murdered that way.
The soldiers, when they got to Ashaiman, started the investigation in a very horrendous manner by brutalizing everyone they see in the street of Ashaiman. People were bruised with guns and sticks; others were also asked to drink water from the gutters as well as lying in a pool of dirty and stagnated water.
The act of investigation was sanctioned by the Army General, but not the brutalization though some top army officials in the country have supported their fellow comrades using the expression “if you touch one, you touch all”.
The military also highlighted a similar incident that happened years back about General Major Mahama who was also murdered while on duty.
Many citizens have condemned the actions of the soldiers, and they opined that, we are not in a banana republic, the laws should be working, the military personnel cannot take laws into their hands.
Rumour has it that, the late Sheriff Imoro was murdered because of an affair he had with a lady who happened to be double dating; the other date plotted the killing of the young gallant soldier.
This very sad emblem is the mother of the late soldier in tears upon seeing her son murdered in that way and she said, she was not aware that her son is in Ashaiman; “my son is calm and doesn’t have time for troubles; people even said he was a lady when he was growing up because of how reserved he is.”
