Nana Agyei Baffour, a prominent Ghanaian lawyer, has disputed claims that his client, Gifty Oware, ignored an invitation from the National Investigation Bureau (NIB) by traveling abroad. According to Baffour, Gifty Oware never received a formal invitation from the NIB ¹.
Baffour clarified that despite widespread reports suggesting otherwise, his client had not been summoned for investigation upon her return to Ghana. It was only after numerous inquiries and letters that they discovered Gifty Oware had been indirectly invited without being explicitly named.
Baffour argued that summoning someone indirectly without clearly stating their name and then accusing them of violating the government’s invitation is unjustifiable.
