Ghana is the first West Africa country that gained its independence but nothing seems to be working for the country that was envied and was used as a reference point for many Africa countries in the colonial era.
This retrogression can be widely attributed to the involvement of political parties that have been ruling the country since its independence. It has always been a case of a ruling part, opposition and propaganda in the last decades.
Though one cannot say there has not be any developmental sight, but with the resources possessed by the country, the development does not tally with the blessed resources the country has.
Bishop Duncan Williams expresses a very strong and resounding idea when he said Ghana will never grow if the country does not have one agenda. We should do away with politics if we really want to grow as a nation. Bishop Duncan Williams opined this idea when he was addressing the newly admitted UPSA students.
There should be a common agenda that we all should come together and set. Regardless of the political party, there should be a direction of development that is clear for everyone to follow. We should give ourselves 10 years regardless of the party that comes in power, we continue with the developmental plan instead of the uncompleted projects that are often left abandoned whenever there is change of power.
We should also avoid the attitude of pulling our very own whenever, and in contrary support strangers more than their very own countrymen.
