The current Headmaster of Amenfiman Senior High School is a vibrant energetic man who has brought light, development, and discipline to the school in the last 2 and half years as the school’s head. Many projects have been completed and others ongoing in the school.
Young Kwasi was born Sunday 23rd June, 1968 to Mr/Mrs Arnold Charles Kweku Mickson who are strong Christians and believers of God’s word, and they are members of Jehovah Witness. He was loved by his parents who raised him with love and instilled the fear of God in him.
Isaac Kwasi Mickson lived his early life in Adabraka (Circle), a suburb in Greater Accra Region with his parents. He had his Primary Education in Datus Preparatory Primary School-Accra Buabuashie in 1978, he moved with his parents from Adabraka to Tema and continued his Primary School Education in Tema’s Datus and he completed in 1982.
He wrote Common Entrance examination which landed him an admission to pursue General Science in Tema Secondary School in 1982. He had a quiet lifestyle in his Secondary School Days. He completed Tema Secondary School in 1987. It was not all rosy for Mr Isaac Kwasi Mickson because he did not have the best of grades after completion.
From 1987-1992, he was a Pupil Teacher. There was need for him to better his grade and continue his academic career. In 1991, he enrolled in Accra Worker’s College to better his grade though his plan was to join his grandmother in United Kingdom, his visa got bounced which created a deep scar in his heart, but he shook it off to follow his dream to be an erudite.
In 1992, he got admitted into Jasikan Training College where he offered General Arts- (English Literature and Social Studies). His love for sports sprouted out in Jasikan Training College when he was elected as the Assistant Sports Prefect. He was a Volleyball player for Asamoah House, and he was also a member of the school’s Hockey team. He completed Jasikan Training College in 1995.
After Completion, Mr. Isaac Kwasi Mickson was first posted to Juakwa Bremang Catholic Primary School in the Central Region of Ghana where he taught Class 2,4, and 5. He got a spotlight recognition in Sports from his District Director after he refereed a fierce rivalry match between Juakwa DC JHS, and Juakwa Catholic JHS in 1995-1996. He was reposted to Juakwa DC JHS, and he was also the Zonal Sports Secretary in 1997-1999.
In 1999, he got admission in Winneba where he studied Physical Education. He continued his love for Sports in the University by joining the University’s Volleyball and Handball team, and his team won Gold Medal in GUSA GAMES (2001). In 2002-2003, he missed the opportunity to represent his University in WAUG (West Africa University Games) because his coach relayed the message to him at the eleventh hour.
In 2002, he had his internship in Archbishop Porter Girls’ Secondary School in the Western Region of Ghana. He was retained as a Physical Education Tutor after his heroics and hard work in his internship tenure. In Archbishop Porter Girls’ Secondary School, he was a Form Master, and later made the Director of Studies.
In 2009-2011, Mr. Mickson had his Masters in Physical Education (M.Ed. PHYSICAL EDUCATION) in the University of Cape Coast (UCC).
He rose through the ranks of Ghana Education Service (GES) as Assistant Director 1 in 2014. 2016 was a very fruitful year for Mr. Isaac Kwesi Mickson, he was WASSCE External Supervisor, and he also got the appointment as the Assistant Headmaster at Mpohor Secondary School though he officially resumed duty 1st December, 2017. Mr Isaac Kwasi Mickson spent 4 years in Mpohor Secondary School as the Assistant Headmaster (2017-2021).
15th November, 2021, he got his headship appointment as the Substantive Headmaster of Amenfiman Senior High School (till date). He is currently the Zonal Chairman for Sports in Amenfi Zone, and Zonal Chairman for CHASS.
