Some Educationists in the Greater Accra Region have pleaded with the Ghana Education Service to reinstate corporal punishment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Corporal punishment was a conduct check the Ghana Education Service once included in their code of conduct but the Service made that conduct void years back due to how most teachers took the disciplinary approach to the extreme of inflicting injuries on the Ghanaian child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Educationists see the need for the corporal punishment to be reinstated due to the waywardness of students in this current state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A lot of social vices and recalcitrant attitudes have been shown by a greater number of students since the \u201ccorporal punishment\u201d was abolished from the G.E.S code of conduct, and the abolishment of this conduct has given students greenlight to engage and indulge in farcical and frivolous activities in school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Educationists quoted a Bible scripture to buttress their points \u201ctrain up a child the way he should go, when he grows, he will never depart from it; if you spare the rod, you spoil the child.\u201d, and they have pleaded for corporal punishment to be reinstated in other to save the future of the students who now engage themselves in hookups, alcoholism, chatting during school hours, making phone calls etc.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
