Ghanaian actress and media personality Joselyn Dumas has recounted a distressing experience after scammers allegedly drained her mobile money account, urging the public to remain vigilant against rising cyber fraud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The popular actress took to Instagram to share details of how fraudsters posed as DSTV representatives and successfully tricked her into giving up sensitive information that allowed them to access her mobile money wallet. According to Dumas, the scammers called her claiming to be from DSTV. They told her that her account had been flagged for irregular activity and needed immediate verification. The call sounded professional. Moreover, the scammers seemed to know specific details about her account, which made the interaction feel legitimate. Without suspecting anything, she followed their instructions and provided information they requested. Within minutes, her mobile money account had been emptied. By the time she realized what had happened, it was too late. Dumas expressed frustration and anger over the incident. She posted about the experience on social media to warn others about the growing sophistication of scammers in Ghana. According to her, these criminals are becoming more creative and convincing, making it harder for people to detect fraud. “Please be careful out there,” <\/em>she wrote in her Instagram post. “These scammers are getting smarter every day. If someone with her level of exposure can be tricked, ordinary Ghanaians without the same awareness are even more vulnerable.
