Shamima Muslim, a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has publicly accused Afenyo Markin, the Minority Leader of Parliament, of intentionally overpowering the vetting chairperson during the vetting procedure. Muslim claims that Markin is deliberately suppressing the chairperson, undermining their authority and creating an uneven playing field.

According to Muslim, the vetting chairperson’s competence is not in question, but rather, they are being bullied by Markin, who seems to be performing as if he were the chairperson’s assistant. Muslim argues that this behavior is a clear indication of Markin’s intentional attempt to dominate the vetting process.

Muslim also highlighted the double standards of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), stating that when their party member was chairing the committee, such incidents never occurred.
