The President-elect, John Dramani Mahama, has called on President Akuffo -Addo and the security agencies to address the matter of a forceful attempt by some youth to take over some state installations. On December 10, there were findings of an attempt by some youth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the contrary, their efforts, along with an illustration, were halted by the police and military, who were mobilized to control the situation. In a screened public address, the President-elect strongly advised President Akufo-Addo to ensure that law and order are maintained. It was discovered that this group of youths are supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), who are trying to gain control of the Ghana Gas company, Harbour Authority, and the Ghana Ports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“He said that since power is still in the hands of the current government, he summons the President and the security agencies to take authoritative action to restrict the growing culture of lawlessness. He urged the youth not to express their anger through abominable acts. Instead, they should channel their anger into positive ventures of restarting and reconstructing the nation. He desired that all citizens remain calm in order not to destroy the legacy, institutions, and democracy of the nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
