On Wednesday, 5th October 2022 a man by name Richard Kofi was arrested by the Police on the charge of assaulting a toddler at Akaa Buem in Jasikan in the Oti Region of Ghana around 3: 30 pm. A short video was recorded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the video, the suspected father of the toddler being Richard Kofi was seen brutally whipping the boy with a stick that looks like a branch of a plant. In the video, he whips the toddler not less than 20 times continuously until the boy crawls away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Akaa Buem community was stirred up after the arrest of the suspect.
Richard Kofi was summoned at the Chief’s palace to explain the accusation laid against him. He was afterwards taken away in a police van.
The suspect had claimed he had done nothing wrong and sworn and threatened to harm the people who made a report to the police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The police not only took him away but also took along his wife who is believed to live in a separate house. The police has now taken the child into it’s care.
